Frequently Asked Questions
How can I make an appointment?
Request an appointment here on our website, send a text message or give us a call.
How long will my appointment last?
Unless our team advises otherwise, Wellness and Sick Care appointments are scheduled for one hour.
Will my appointment time be precise?
While we always strive to maintain an accurate and reliable schedule, there are sometimes unforeseeable circumstances that arise from the nature of our work as a full service mobile veterinary clinic.
When requesting a visit, it is best to plan for a variation of up to 15 minutes before or after the target appointment time. We will contact you via text or call if we expect our arrival will be early or late; so please be sure you include a convenient number when making your appointment.
Our best effort will always be made to arrive at our scheduled appointment time, and in the event of an emergency or complication we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the schedule adjustment. Caring for pets in their homes is sometimes unpredictable and may result in slight, infrequent schedule adjustments. Thank you for understanding!
What is your Cancellation/No Show Policy?
Because our schedule is designed to provide the utmost convenience for our patients and their families, adherence to the scheduled appointment time is critical to our success.
There is no fee for appointments cancelled before 24 hours prior to the scheduled time. In the event of a last minute appointment cancellation (within 24 hours of the scheduled time), the Appointment Cancellation Fee - equal to the Home Visit Fee - will be applied to your account and added to the invoice for your next appointment.
If you are not at the specified appointment location at the appointment time, the No Show Fee - equal to the Home Visit Fee - will be charged to the payment information we have on file, or will be invoiced and emailed to you directly.
What is your Home Visit Fee?
Our Home Visit Fee is a one time fee per visit, regardless of the number of animals seen. This amount varies based on the location of the visit:
Buellton, Santa Ynez, Solvang, Los Olivos, Los Alamos: $99
What is your Exam Fee?
Unless our team advises otherwise, Wellness and Sick Care appointments are scheduled for one hour. Our Well Care exam fee is $75 per animal seen during the scheduled appointment, and our Sick Care exam fee is $85 per animal seen during the scheduled appointment.
Flock/Herd care rates are available for our farm and ranch clients at $140, assuming there are more than two in the flock or herd and all animals are overall healthy and in the same condition. An individual in the herd that is sick will require an individual exam at $85.
Do you have a medication delivery fee?
For urgent prescriptions and medication needs outside of a scheduled appointment, we are happy to drop off at your location for the cost of the items plus a $25 delivery charge. For recurring or non-urgent prescriptions, you can use our online pharmacy and have the medications conveniently mailed to you.
How much does it cost if our pet needs Emergency Care?

What are the benefits of choosing a mobile veterinary service?
Mobile veterinary services are convenient because the vet and their office comes to you! Plus:
Clients don’t need to leave the comfort of their homes and animals aren’t removed from their familiar surroundings, providing a less stressful environment for care.
Because we specialize in creatures of all sizes, clients with multiple animals can get care for all of their pets with a single visit.
Because the veterinarian and technician are at their home, clients have the ability to be more involved in their pets’ care.
With a broad range of services available from wellness care to emergency services clients can have confidence that their animals will receive the same expert care from familiar professionals, regardless of the circumstances.
What cities do you see patients in?
We serve patients in Santa Ynez, Solvang, Buellton, Los Olivos, Ballard, and Los Alamos.
Can I call you for after hours emergency services for my animals?
Our After Hours Emergency Services are only available if the animal is already an established patient in our care. We may only give medical advice over the phone if there is a valid Veterinarian Client Patient Relationship on file.
