To keep your pet healthy, All Creatures recommends a comprehensive yearly wellness examination for all pets and twice yearly for seniors. These exams let us detect problems early, before they become serious, and help your pet live a long, healthy life. We also strongly recommend yearly parasite stool examinations and heartworm tests for all dogs and outside cats.
As in human medicine, we now recommend baseline bloodwork for all pets and geriatric workups for older pets. Many diseases are insidious in onset and can only be detected in their earliest stages by timely blood tests. By catching these disease processes early in their course we can often preserve organ function and slow the course or cure the disease.
Vaccination is the backbone of modern preventative medicine. Since Rabies is diagnosed yearly in Rockland County in cats, bats and raccoons, all dogs, cats, and ferrets should be vaccinated against Rabies as required by state law. Vaccination protocols against other infectious diseases are constantly changing and evolving, so please contact All Creatures for our latest recommendations. |
